Ingredients
Scale
Garlic, Dill and Horseradish Compound Butter
- 1 cup Tillamook Unsalted Butter, softened
- 2 tbsp Private Selection Creamy Horseradish
- 1/2 tsp sea salt or more to taste
- 1 clove fresh garlic, grated
- 4 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
Berry Compound Butter
- 1 cup Tillamook Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/4 cup mixed berries (blackberries and raspberries)
- 2 tbsp Simple Truth Organic honey
Instructions
- Prepare Garlic, Dill & Horseradish Butter: Finely chop the fresh dill. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, creamy horseradish, grated garlic, chopped dill, and sea salt. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated into a smooth compound butter.
- Shape & Refrigerate Garlic Butter: Transfer the horseradish-dill butter mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Roll the butter tightly into a log shape. Wrap it securely with an additional layer of plastic wrap to prevent leakage, twist both ends, and refrigerate for at least one hour until firm and ready to serve.
- Prepare Berry Compound Butter: In a separate bowl, gently mash the mixed berries. Add the softened butter and honey to the mashed berries. Mix carefully to combine while omitting most of the liquid released from the berries to avoid excess moisture.
- Shape & Refrigerate Berry Butter: Transfer the berry butter mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Roll it into a tight log shape, wrap in an additional layer of plastic to seal, twist the ends securely, and refrigerate for at least one hour until solid and chilled.
Notes
- The compound butters can be wrapped in parchment or wax paper as an alternative to plastic wrap to reduce plastic usage.
- Adjust the amount of horseradish and garlic according to your taste preference for a milder or stronger flavor.
- If fresh dill is unavailable, dried dill can be used but fresh provides better flavor and texture.
- For berry compound butter, use fresh or thawed berries to ensure easy mashing and mixing.
- Compound butters can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week or frozen for longer shelf life.
