- 100g butter, softened to room temperature
- 175g soft brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 140g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp full-fat milk
Optional Flavor Variations
- Salted caramel dough: 1 tbsp dulce de leche, 1/2 tsp salt, handful of dark chocolate chips
- S’more cookie dough: 1 tbsp Nutella, 2 crumbled digestive biscuits, mini marshmallows
- Apple & cinnamon dough: Small chunks of dried apple, 1 tsp cinnamon mixed with 1 tbsp soft brown sugar
- Peanut heaven dough: 1 tbsp peanut butter, handful of peanut M&Ms
Instructions
- Beat the butter and sugar: Using a mixer, beat the softened butter and soft brown sugar together until creamy and fully combined, forming a smooth base for the dough.
- Add vanilla, salt, and flour: Mix in the vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp salt. Gradually add the plain flour and stir until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Incorporate milk: While continuing to mix, slowly add the full-fat milk and blend until the dough comes together smoothly. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky but hold its shape.
- Add mix-in flavors if desired: Customize your dough by adding any of the optional flavorings such as swirling in dulce de leche and chocolate chips for salted caramel, mixing in Nutella and marshmallows for s’mores, adding dried apple chunks with cinnamon sugar, or stirring in peanut butter and peanut M&Ms.
