Ingredients
Scale
Alcohol and Mixers
- 1 bottle dry white wine (750 ml)
- 1 cup peach schnapps
- 2 cups soda water or lemon-lime soda
Fresh Fruits
- 2 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
Other
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Ice cubes as needed
Instructions
- Wash Fruits: Thoroughly wash all fruits using a gentle produce wash to ensure they are clean and safe to consume.
- Slice Peaches: Cut around the pit of each peach and twist the halves apart. Slice the peach halves into wedges.
- Prepare Strawberries: Remove the green tops (hull) of the strawberries and slice them into thin pieces or halves.
- Slice Citrus: Slice the orange, lemon, and lime into thin rounds approximately 1/4-inch thick.
- Combine Fruits: Place the sliced peaches, strawberries, orange, lemon, and lime together in a large pitcher or bowl.
- Add Wine: Pour the entire bottle of dry white wine over the mixed fruit in the pitcher.
- Add Peach Schnapps: Pour in 1 cup of peach schnapps to enhance the peach flavor and add sweetness.
- Gently Stir: Stir the mixture gently with a long spoon, taking care not to mash the fruit to keep the textures intact.
- Refrigerate: Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. For best results, chill overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- Prepare to Serve: When ready to serve, fill individual glasses with ice cubes.
- Serve Sangria: Pour the chilled sangria over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full and including some fruit slices in each glass.
- Top with Soda: Add 2 cups of soda water or lemon-lime soda to the glasses to top off the sangria and add a sparkling finish.
- Final Stir: Gently stir each glass to combine the soda with the wine mixture for a balanced flavor.
- Garnish: Add fresh mint leaves to each glass for a refreshing aroma and an elevated presentation.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing homemade peach sangria!
Notes
- The longer the sangria chills, the more the flavors will meld and intensify.
- You can substitute peach schnapps with peach vodka if preferred.
- For a sweeter sangria, use lemon-lime soda; for a less sweet option, use soda water.
- Fresh mint leaves are optional but add a nice aroma and visual appeal.
- Use ripe but firm peaches for best texture; overly soft peaches may break down too much.
