Description
Classic cheeseburgers made with juicy minced beef blended with cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh parsley. Grilled to perfection and served with toasted buns and your favorite toppings for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Burgers
- 1kg minced beef
- 300g breadcrumbs
- 140g extra-mature or mature cheddar, grated
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 small bunch parsley, finely chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1–2 tsp salt
To Serve
- Split burger buns
- Sliced tomatoes
- Red onion slices
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato sauce
- Coleslaw
- Potato wedges or fries
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: Crumble the minced beef into a large bowl. Add the breadcrumbs, grated cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, chopped parsley, beaten eggs, ground pepper, and salt. Use your hands to thoroughly combine all the ingredients, ensuring an even mixture.
- Shape Burgers: Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each into a burger patty. Place the patties on a tray and chill in the refrigerator until ready to cook, preferably up to 24 hours. For longer storage, freeze the patties between sheets of baking parchment in a well-wrapped container for up to 3 months. Defrost overnight in the fridge before cooking.
- Preheat Grill and Cook Burgers: Heat your grill to high. Arrange the burgers on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side or until cooked through and nicely charred on the outside.
- Warm Buns: While the burgers cook, place the split burger buns in a foil-covered tray underneath the grilling burgers to warm them through.
- Assemble and Serve: Let everyone build their own cheeseburgers using the grilled patties, toasted buns, and desired toppings like sliced tomatoes, red onions, lettuce, tomato sauce, coleslaw, and serve with potato wedges or fries on the side.
Notes
- The Worcestershire sauce adds a savory depth to the burger mix but can be omitted for a milder flavor.
- Burgers can be made in advance and frozen for convenience; just ensure they are properly thawed before grilling.
- Adjust salt and pepper to taste when mixing the patties.
- For a juicier burger, avoid pressing the patties too thin while shaping.
- Use mature cheddar for a stronger cheesy flavor, or milder cheddar for a subtler taste.
