Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 pound bacon, cut into halves
- 12 large eggs
- 12 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1/4 cup milk or cream
Topping
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: Everything bagel seasoning, for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Bacon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the bacon halves in a single layer. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crispy and golden brown, then transfer to paper towels to drain excess grease.
- Prepare the Eggs: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat and pour in the egg mixture. Gently push cooked eggs toward the center as they set, allowing the uncooked egg to flow underneath. Cook until the eggs are mostly set but slightly moist, then remove from heat.
- Assemble the Sliders: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally and place the bottom halves in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer the cooked bacon over the rolls, spread the scrambled eggs evenly on top, and then layer with cheddar cheese slices. Cover with the top halves of the sweet rolls.
- Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the rolls. If desired, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the top for added flavor and texture.
- Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Serve: Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or peppers to the scrambled eggs.
- Cheese options such as Swiss, pepper jack, or mozzarella can be used to vary the taste.
- Everything bagel seasoning is optional but adds a nice savory crunch; alternatively, sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.
- These sliders can be prepared ahead and baked fresh when ready to serve.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven or microwave.
