- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Mix the yogurt, tomato purée, lemon juice, spices (hot chilli powder, turmeric, ground coriander, cumin, garam masala, cinnamon), garlic and ginger paste, salt, black pepper, and optional red food colouring to create the marinade.
- Step 2: Slash the chicken legs a few times to help the marinade penetrate. Rub the marinade all over the chicken, including under the breast skin. Refrigerate and marinate for up to 24 hours.
- Step 3: Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan/gas mark 6). Place the sliced onions, lemon halves, and thickly sliced ginger in a roasting tin.
